Tobacciana
Bittersweet Collectibles ~ Tobacciana
We've collected tobacciana for many years. Back in the 1970's, when I was fond of actually wearing the vintage clothing I collected (yes, out in public just for fun), I also picked up accessories. These included such things as cigarette holders. At the time I bought fancy boxes of Turkish pastel cigarettes... they were literally pastel colors of pink, aqua, mint, you get the picture, with gold bands... and they looked pretty smashing in my Deco era cigarette holders!
We also began picking up the odd Made in Japan and Occupied Japan little lusterware ash trays for our home. They made cunning little souvenirs when we were traveling: relatively inexpensive, very easy to add to the suitcase, and absolutely darling. I was particularly fond of animal motifs. Rest assured, as long as I'm still kicking, you'll not see any of my horse, donkey and mule little ashtrays listed here. However, I'm ready to destash some of my collection, plus I've unearthed some from our old Country Living Shop inventory.
